A MEGA FINANCIAL EDUCATION PROJECT

In 2010, Equity bank through Equity Group Foundation undertook a mega Financial Education project in partnership with Master Card and the Government of Kenya. Africa Turnaround was engaged as the local consultant working hand in hand with Microfinance Opportunities.

Financial Education Master Trainer Training and Curriculum Adaptation

As the local consultants in the project, Africa Turnaround worked with Microfinance Opportunities to train about 28 Master Trainers and conduct a curriculum adaptation workshop. The 28 master trainers would then train hundreds of Trainer of Trainers who would in turn train almost a million clients on: Budgeting, Savings, Debt Management and Bank services.

The MFO based TOT and the Trainers' manuals were being adapted to the local context in order to effectively address the needs of trainees.

Having successfully adapted the first ever MFO curriculum (now branded Elewa Pesa) under a Faulu Kenya project, Africa Turnaround was strongly recommended by the project funders to work with MFO in this project.

The outcome of this Equity project was highly rated.
